about

Hi.

So, a bit of exposition: all of these were actually supposed to be made for two specific events, first two being for a event for a little channel called SiivaGunner (dunno if you've heard of em, but basically it's that one channel that posts "high quality rips" of video game music or whatever), that event in question being KFAD 2 (A.K.A King for Another Day); the last three were made for this fake ass Olympics event in my school where I offered to make three covers for it to be used in multiple ways throughout the event, one for the opening ceremony (Witchcraft), and the other two for the breaks in-between the events.

For the KFAD entries, I made each of the tracks for DJ Professor K and Jack Bros. respectively, which are both Sega and Shin Megami Tensei related, hence the choice of music for each of them lol; for the Professor K cover I tried making two versions of the same music to mimic the fact the original track from After Burner had two separate versions released, an "instrumental" version that doesn't have the lead melody, and a "with melody" version that (obviously) has the melody, then for the Jack Bros. one it's just a combination of two separate tracks from games in the SMT series, first one being the main battle theme from Giten Megami Tensei (specifically the SC-55 MIDI version since it's what I used to make the cover to begin with) and the second one being the main battle theme from Shin Megami Tensei II. These are arguably the ones I feel the proudest since I added so much stuff of my own to both of these covers, and overall is way more of a showcase to the things I can do with my own music nowadays haha

For the school Olympics event, I mainly went with a trance/rave sound for all of these both in the choice of music and instrumentation since I thought it'd fit with the whole vibe of the "Olympics", plus since I was kind of just doing these while thinking of them as something a DJ would put for a party, I guess it makes sense why I would've gone with this kinda sound haha; I also tried making it as authentic as I could, at least with the techniques that I knew back then... considering that I have gotten a considerate amount of experience with trance music and know of a lot more of the techniques that come with them this might not sound nearly as authentic, but since it's old shit I guess it's enough of an excuse :P

Overall, I definitely had tons of fun making these covers, which is why it kind of sucked that these were just rotting inside my Dropbox account for the longest time, both of them for different reasons than one another I guess... but hey, might as well finally release these and make a tiny album release out of them haha

Oh, btw, if you're wondering why there's no option to buy the album, well, I did this mainly because I don't think I can be able to keep charging for any of my albums since I'm technically not supposed to get any money for these to begin with...

But if you do want to pay me, I actually made a ko.fi account not too long ago for this exact purpose, so if you still want to donate anything, do it from there please; here it is:

Also, huge thanks to LadiesMan217 for helping me with mastering these again; he's accepting commissions rn, so here's a link to his Discord if anyone wants to find/contact him:

Okay, that should be all now; enjoy! :)
